Rebel News - October
I don’t know about you but I feel like September absolutely whizzed by! I was lucky to get away for a few days to a friend’s wedding in Sicily - thanks everyone for your patience with the slight delay it caused to orders, and to Sam for helping pack all the quarterly subscriptions in my absence.
September was another jam-packed Rebel month, with the Scrap Heap Challenge making a real impact in a lot of different ways. The five finalists in the competition include a rooster made out of egg shell cartons, burial clothes for still-born babies made from an old wedding dress, and a crocheted bear, made from parcel string. Congratulations everyone who entered and everyone who made sustainable changes to their lifestyle over the last four weeks.
The Big Rebel Adventure began in earnest, with 21 Rebels hiking up Snowdon in preparation for the Three Peaks Challenge next June. If you aren’t able to join us for the Challenge in real life, don’t worry, a virtual version of the Big Rebel Adventure was launched, beginning this month. Full details on the website.
We have just two weeks until Rebel Badge Club turns two years old, and we will be celebrating with a Meet Up near Rebel HQ in Reading. There are still tickets left for the fun-packed day on October 14th. We will be geocaching, doing a still life drawing class, learning a Bollywood dance, improving our confidence with an improv comedy workshop and making some collages. Come and join the fun - most Rebels arrive alone, and leave with a whole bunch of new friends!
Charly xx
What’s new …
Halloween 2023
An annual favourite! This badge is totally different to last year’s one (which you can still do too, though I only have stickers left for the 2022 challenge).
Halloween badges are available on their own, or in a triple bundle with the next two Challenge badges - November’s Science Fair and December’s Winter Rebel. Act quick, these sold out very quickly last year.
New Additions to the Shop
It’s a new quarter, so there’s a new quarterly badge. This one will have you dancing a famous dance, and designing a cake, as well as some other ‘Two’ themed challenges.
Quarterly badges are designed to take three months and help point you in the direction of which badges to do next. This one matches last year’s 1st Birthday badge, which is still available on the shop if you’d like to collect them.
